General Qualities & Characteristics

Mex hydro AW is a range of superior quality antiwear type hydraulic oils blended from high quality base stocks selected additives formulated primarily as heavy duty, antiwear hydraulic oils with excellent water separating characteristics. They are suitable for use in most modern hydraulic control systems incorporating a wide variety of pump design. Their excellent performance characteristics as hydraulic oils also make them equally suitable as lubricating oils in a wide range of industrial applications. 

Application Requirements :

In modern high pressure hydraulic systems, articulary those incorporating vane type pumps, high metal-to-metal pressures can result in a breakdown of the fluid lubricating oil film with consequent high and unacceptable wear rates. The special zic / phosphorus antiwar additive incorporated in Mex hydro AW prevents such excessive wear and ensures long pump and valve life. Mex hydro AW and offers excellent air release properties. It also has excellent water separation properties for damp conditions caused by water leakage or condensation through reservoir breather pipes. 

Recommendations :

Mex hydro AW is recommended in vane, axial piston, gear and other types of hydraulic pumps and motors at oil pressures in the range of 69 - 345 bar (1,000 - 5,000 PSI), It may be used in a wide variety of applications including airline lubricators, bearings, high speed spindles, hydrostatic transmissions, hydraulic couplings and some gear units, it has many uses in construction plant equipment, machine tools and general industrial equipment and the heavier viscosity grades may be used for gear lubrication where an EP type gear oil is not required. Mex Quench Oils are general purpose straight mineral quenching oil manufactured from selected crudes of the paraffin type. These grades are refined by an exclusive finishing process an advanced hydrogen refining process which enhances the high resistance to oxidation, long service life and low carbon residue of these quenching oils. Meets the requirements ofIS 2664-1980, Straight mineral oils.

Application Requirements : Although fast quenching oil are required for many applications most oil quenching is still performed in conventional, oil of the type exemplified by Mex Quench Oils. With conventional oil, the quenching actions is characterized by a vapor blanket stage which is characterized by a vapor blanket stage which is fairly short, along with a boiling stage that ceases to function at a temperature which is in the vicinity of the Ms point for many steels. The third stage, which begins when boiling stops, lasts longer than does that of water and accounts for the tendency of mineral quenching oil to cause minimum distortion.

Mex Recommendations : Choice of proper quenching oil depends on the analysis of the steel being treated, the hardness desired, the shape and size of the piece, the analysis of the quenching systems and the degree of agitation employed - to name a few of the important variables.

Mex Meta Quench Oil 22 and 33 are recommended for heat treating high harden ability point resistance to oxidation of these oil provides unifor hardening with minimum discoloration, improved grain structure, and long bath life. 

Mex Meta Quench 68meets the specifications of (IS2664 1980) straight mineral, heavy type.

Mex Friz Oils is a range of premium quality, mineral oils for the lubrication of refrigeration and air-conitioning compressors when refrigerants other than HFCs (hydro fluorocarbons) are used. Made from special, narrow-cut naphtenic oils, practically wax-free, for extremely low pour and floc points. They meet the specification requirements of DIN 51503 KC and British Standards BS 2626:1975 In addition they also meet the specification requirements of IS 4578 - 1968and carrier corporation, USA PP 46-1.

Application Requirements : The lubricants to be used in refrigeration and air-conditon compressor must have very low pour and freon floc points to prevents loss of fluidity and formation of wax deposits at the low temperatures they work on. They also must have long oil service life through excellent oxidation stability and must protect the equipment reliably and efficiently. They also must minimize formation of gums, varnish and other sludge deposits, besides minimizing carry-over by resisting foaming.

Recommendations : Mex Friz Oils is recommended for use in reciprocating and rotary refrigeration and air conditioning compressors. They low Freon floc permits the operation of these systems at very low evaporator temperatures. Mex Friz Oils is suitable for use a wide range of refrigerants including ammonia, carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, methylene chloride and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) like R-12and R - 22.

Mex Rotospin is a range of high quality spindle lubricants for use on modern textile machines. Manufactured from the highest quality base stocks and ashless addivitives, it reduces spindle wear, protects against rust and may be easily removed by washing if textile contamination occurs. 

Application Requirements : 

Modern textile machine spindles work at high speeds and high loads. With conventional spindle lubricants, sludge, carbonaceous deposits and excessive spindle wear can occur. Mex Rotospin has been formulated with special additives to reduce the formation of harmful deposits. It reduces power consumption and protects spindle surface from rust and corrosion. The low coefficents of static and kinetic friction of Mex Rotospin reduces starting torque and operating temperatures, which further reduces power consumption. Recommendations : 

Mex Rotospin is recommended for the lubrication of high speed spindles in textile industry. Should contamination occur, Mex Rotospin can be removed by washing and will not usually interfere with the subsequent processing and dyeing of textiles.
